How it’s calculated
- Gross fixed = CTC − variable pay − employer PF − gratuity.
- HRA = 50% (metro) or 40% of basic; special allowance = whatever is left of gross fixed.
- PF = 12% of basic from both you and your employer (or capped at ₹1,800/month on the ₹15,000 wage ceiling). Gratuity = 4.81% of basic.
- In-hand = gross fixed − your PF − professional tax − income tax on fixed pay. Tax on the bonus is shown separately, since it’s paid when the bonus is.
- Old regime here counts only standard deduction, your PF (80C) and professional tax. Add rent, insurance etc. in the Income tax calculator for a full picture.
- Real salary structures vary a lot between companies — check your offer letter.
