Growth over time
Invested vs returns
How it’s calculated
Each month’s instalment is added at the start of the month and the whole balance compounds monthly:
FV = P × [(1 + i)n − 1] / i × (1 + i)P= monthly SIP,i= annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100,n= number of months.- With step-up, the SIP rises by the chosen % at the start of each new year.
- Goal mode solves the same formula backwards for
P. - Mutual fund returns are not guaranteed; this assumes a steady average return and ignores taxes and exit loads.

Balance over time
How it’s calculated
Every month the remaining balance earns one month of returns, then your withdrawal is taken out:
Balancenext = Balance × (1 + i) − Wi= annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100,W= monthly withdrawal (raised yearly if you set an increase).- The “most you can withdraw” figure is the withdrawal that brings the balance to exactly zero at the end of the period.
